This tea comes from Wusheh town in Nantou County in Taiwan. Wusheh is small town with very good conditions for growing tea, but very little of it is produced nowadays. Tea comes from small family farm, and we were able to procure only 1kg of this very small batch. This oolong is bug bitten tea. When Jassids (species of leafhopper) bites on tea leaves it causes chemical reaction in tea plant to counter infestation. That in turn affects aroma and taste of tea, usually bug bitten tea will have honey and floral aromas which sometimes will translate to taste.

Tea farmer who made this tea wanted to process it all himself and tea was machine picked by him and his wife. Because of machine picking tea leaves are not very appealing, but when hot water hits the leaves this tea tells completely different story. Both taste and aroma are very well balanced and complex. Tea is sweet and smooth, honey, layers of fruits and touch of floral notes linger long after drinking. We love how all aspects of this tea are well balanced and how drinking it makes you feel refreshed and relaxed.
