We fell in love with this 90’s CCNP factory blend Shou PuErh from the very first cup. It seems that tea was going through lighter wodui processing, giving it more space to age. After over two decades of aging in clean Taiwanese storage this tea have become very sublime and elegant. Also leaves have loosen up a bit and it’s quite easy to remove a chunk for brewing.
Surprisingly bright and complex for Shou, it nearly tastes like very old Sheng. Liquor is sweet, smooth and medium to thick, taste is very clean with woody, nutty and herbal notes, there is just a touch of earthiness, raisins and something that for me brings to mind cookie dough.
This tea is very rich and satisfying, leaves can be brewed many times and drinking it is very warming, comforting and calming.
