Curious name of this tea comes from folklore story made up by farmers to protect their tea bushes from stealing. Ya Shi Xiang being very aromatic and balanced would be very sought for, this farmers created story that their soil is covered by ducks poo and thus having similar aroma. That couldn’t be further from the truth as aroma of this tea is simply divine.
Placing leaves in hot brewing vessel will bring out fresh and warm fruity aroma, adding water will bring out creamy, butterscotch like aromas, with fruity notes intertwining with toffee. Liquor is smooth, sweet and medium to thick, subtle fruity flavours are brought back in characteristic for this kind of tea returning flavours, bringing out milky and fruity notes that brought to my mind crystallised pineapple.
Very well processed example of Ya Shi Xiang with emphasis on aromas.
