Every year Hsinchu County holds a very prestigious Oriental Beauty competition, organized by Emei and Bei Pu farmer’s association. Thousand of competitors enter hoping to get a good place not only to sell their tea at a better price but also as a challenge themselves to make the best tea possible.
Both teas that we have decided to add to the shop from this year are truly excellent and we couldn’t choose just one of them. Both have great value and their price to quality ratio is through the roof.
Placing leaves in preheated brewing vessel will bring out aromas of dried herbs and flowers along with fresh sweet florals and acacia honey. Brewing opens up tea to sweet, fresh and fruity aromas, with notes of delicate florals, sweet honey and ripe plum flesh.
Liquor is smooth, sweet and of medium thickness, tea starts with rich floral notes that are progressively become more fruity. Wonderful experience that stays intriguing and interesting as tea is changing from infusion to infusion.
We recommend brewing Oriental Beauty with water at slightly lower temperature than boiling. It is because a lot of leaves consists of delicate buds, and brewing in lower temperatures will help to bring out the sweetness.
