Mun Hsing Loong (曼興龍 - Big Lion Village) is a village between Lao Man Err and Lao Ban Zhang and it’s called by local people Lao Man Err number 2. Bulang tribe living there have been making tea from ancient trees long before their village started to be known around 2011. Because of that all threes growing there are a part of the forest and its pristine environment, tea trees grow there at altitudes of 1600 - 1900m in yellow mud / soil. Those trees are the same bitter varietal found in Lao Man Err ( C.assamica var kucha 苦茶). Even though it’s bitter varietal tea growing around Mun Hsing Loong is not even close as bitter and have similar aroma to Lao Ban Zhang. Tea we bought from Big Lion village is expertly processed and made of material coming from trees that are at least 200 years old, but costs just a fraction of a price asked for this kind of tea from neighbouring villages.

Brewed tea is sweet and very fruity, very thick and smooth, with refreshing cooling sensation and very potent Qi. Drinking it elevates mood and energize, clears mind and relaxes. We are very excited to offer this tea at a very good price. Tea comes as 500g bricks wrapped in plain, special puerh paper made locally, two bricks are wrapped in bamboo shell for protection and storage.

Due to heavy brick compression our suggestion for brewing big chunk of it would be long (around 1 minute) wash and first infusion around 20 seconds, after that following your standard brewing method.
