Jin Xuan (金萱) cultivar is also called milk oolong. That comes from naturally occurring milky aroma called also Nai Xiang (奶香).
Usually this kind of tea can be very single dimensional and we always look for Jin Xuan that is balanced and more complex.
We are delighted with this tea, it’s aromas are ranging from sweet, creamy milk candy to vegetal boiled asparagus, with florals adding to its richness and character. Sweet and medium to thick liquor have nice weight and texture, it’s most prominent milky character is nicely balanced by vegetal and floral notes, that also bring more fruitiness in later infusions.
Tea crystal clear liquor, nice flavors and aromas separation, interesting liquor texture and long lasting aftertaste, makes it delight to drink. It is creamy, rich, satisfying and yet very refreshing. Definitely one of best Jin Xuan in recent memory.
