Every year Hsinchu County holds a very prestigious Oriental Beauty competition, organised by Emei and Bei Pu farmer’s association. Thousand of competitors enter hoping to get a good place not only to sell their tea at a better price but also as a challenge themselves to make the best tea possible.
Both teas that we have decided to add to the shop from this year are truly excellent and we couldn’t choose just one of them. Both have great value and their price to quality ratio is through the roof.
Placing leaves in hot brewing vessel will bring out fresh but warm and sweet scent filled with floral and herbal notes. After brewing on the lid of your gaiwan or bottom of the cup you can find honey sweet, intensely floral notes with touch of dry herbs and white flesh fruits.
Liquor is very smooth and very sweet, with nice thickness from very first infusion. Fruity, slightly sour white grapes, dried flowers, apple puree.
Intense taste and aroma lingering in the mouth and top of the throat, long after drinking.
This tea is very uplifting and energising whilst grounding. Great for tea meditation as it is rooting whilst energising and mind clearing.
We recommend brewing Oriental Beauty with water at slightly lower temperature than boiling. It is because a lot of leaves consists of delicate buds, and brewing in lower temperatures will help to bring out the sweetness.
