BaiYeh translates to white leaf, name derived from characteristic look of the leaves, with their belly - or underneath of the leaves - looking white. Coming from at least 50 year old bushes growing at elevation around 1500m, this tea is excellent example of how good DanCong can be.
Dry leaves in hot brewing vessel are super aromatic with rich, fresh and complex aroma bursting with sweet and warm notes of tropical fruit and touch of rosehip. Adding water brings out a bit more of warmer woody character and toffee like sweetness. From very first infusion this tea is very rich, smooth and medium to thick. Very fruity notes are made of mix of tropical fruit with discerning physalis notes, balanced by warm notes of delicate white rice. Moments after drinking returning flavor is very intense and brings more fruity high notes similar to taste of tea itself.
Lovely tea and great example of how great BaiYeh DanCong can be.
