This beautiful teacup have been made using Huang Yen Shao (還原燒) firing technique, what translates to “original firing”. This type of firing takes long time to complete, temperature gets up to 1350°C and have low success rate.  Kiln have its chimney removed for this method leaving very little oxygen inside. When firing starts and oxygen is being depleted, this process pulls out oxygen from the clay and glaze, causing gold tears to be pulled out as well. To achieve that glaze needs to be prepared with extreme skill and precision, such glaze is called Liu Jin Yiu (鎏金釉), meaning flowing gold. This was used for making God and Goddess statues in the past.

Clay used for making this teacup is called Yan Ni (岩泥), it’s coming from Fujian, China. Glazing inside of those cups makes them suitable to use with any tea and clay those are made of won't affect liquor in any way. those will still look beautiful next to your Huang Yen Shao (還原燒) teapot, or tea ware of your choice.

Approximate capacity of those cups is 45ml
