Jianzhan (建窯) is kind of pottery originating in Jianyang, Fujian province. Their usually simple shape with emphasis on beautiful glazing. Those cups are made using local clays rich in iron and fired at very high temperatures (1300°C). Their glaze is made using similar clay and all patterns occur randomly during firing. This set of 9 Jianzhan teacups was fully handmade in Fujian, China it comes in a wooden box and showcases many different styles of Jianzhan pottery. We have just few of those sets for sale and initially thought of selling teacups separately, but ultimately we decided to sell them as sets because of how beautifully those presented themselves next to each other in box or during tea session. Due to hand made nature every teacup of same style is slightly different from one set to the other. All of them are equally beautiful thought.
Tea cups capacity is approximately 80ml.
