It’s amazing how 12 years have changed this tea already. Made of 100 year old trees material and stored in Taiwan, this tea have developed very interesting character and a lot of power.
Dry leaves have nice aroma of wood and prunes with whiff of something reminding sherry oak barrel. This tea is very aromatic and adding hot water fills the room with fruit and wood aromas. Liquor is smooth and have medium body, moderate sweetness carries fruity flavors reminding of fresh dark cherries and prunes, while woody base works well with a bit of present astringency. Liquor have weight and substance to it that is so often found in aged teas.
We think that this tea is great to drink now and for long term storage. Further aging will not only keep evolving tea flavor but should also thicken its liquor. It is fantastic on its own but will also be great after heavy meal.
Last but not least this year have powerful and buzzy energy and it’s very easy to get tea drunk while enjoying it.
