Zheng Shan can be translated as “middle mountain”. Place where this tea grows at altitude around 1700m was discovered by accident, and unfortunately after 2010 started to be over harvested. Thankfully we still have some of this 2008 brick made of material harvested from over 300 year old trees.
This heavy compressed brick is made of nice whole leaves and golden buds with occasional tea twig mixed in, just to add sweetness and fullness to tea liquor. Brewed tea have beautiful clear deep orange color with yellow tinge to it. It is very smooth, sweet and medium to thick. Aromatic wood, dried yellow fruits, honey and wild flowers can be found in very clean taste and aroma. There is just a touch of bitterness showing up, but in general tea is very sweet and easy to drink.
Drinking it is very calming and mind clearing, great tea to unwind and relax.
Due to heavy brick compression our suggestion for brewing big chunk of it would be long (around 1 minute) wash and first infusion around 20 seconds, after that following your standard brewing method.
