GuShu Hong is Dianhong tea made of leaves coming from trees that are at least 300 years old. Those leaves are twisted, black and with golden - orange spots. Tea delivers tapestry of flavors and aromas ranging from various dried fruits, through fresh white flesh fruits to fruit compote. Because tea leaves are coming from very old trees, there are also some woody notes that give all flavors a well rounded balance. Liquid is smooth and medium to thick. Drinking it brings nice, uplifting and positive feeling, like sunny first day of holidays.
Dianhong (滇紅) refers generally to Hongcha (紅茶) or red tea that is produced in the Yunnan province. Dian (滇) is abbreviated name for the Yunnan province, and Hong (紅) means red. Using materials from tea trees to make red tea gives richness and complexity, but also can leave too much bitterness. Processing such tea requires great skills and special techniques. Like leaves oxidation / fermentation in wooden boxes. Tea Master that have made our Dianhong created amazing variety of flavors while keeping astringency and bitterness under control.
