Lao Cong (老欉) means old bush. Definition what is Lao Cong is not set in stone, for Dianhong we consider it as 200-300 year old trees. Leaves coming from old trees in general make tea that is more smooth, potent and rich, with much more depth and layers, and this one is great example of that.
Liquor is bursting with fruity and woody notes in taste and aroma. It is sweet, smooth and thick, with malty and cocoa base. This tea have long legs and can be brewed many times, drinking it is very comforting, relaxing and clears the mind.
Dianhong (滇紅) refers generally to Hongcha (紅茶) or red tea that is produced in the Yunnan province. Dian (滇) is abbreviated name for the Yunnan province, and Hong (紅) means red. Using materials from tea trees to make red tea gives richness and complexity, but also can leave too much bitterness. Processing such tea requires great skills and special techniques. Like leaves oxidation / fermentation in wooden boxes. Tea Master that have made our Dianhong created amazing variety of flavors while keeping astringency and bitterness under control.
