This tea comes from the same area and factory (Han Zi Hao) as our Mi Lan Hua Xiang PuErh. That cake comes from higher elevation though (1800m), and from undisclosed location, usually referred to in the west as “Secret Garden”. Trees growing there are picked only once per year in spring. Trees age range between 300 and 500 years old, with average age estimated to be 350 years.
Brewed tea is smooth and thick, with obvious mouthfeel and structure. Sweet floral aroma translates to taste, that is sweet, with complex floral and white fruits notes. There is no really noticeable bitterness and some soft astringency, that adds to structure but is not distracting at any point. I was amazed at how much structure I could experience in tea liquid, that came with long lasting Huigan. Drinking this tea is very uplifting, energizing, greatly increasing focus and deeply relaxing.
