Oriental or Eastern Beauty, it is heavily oxidized / fermented oolong that originated in Taiwan. Its unique taste and aroma comes from jassids (small leafhopper) biting on the leaves causing enzymatic reaction within the tea plant. For this reason tea harvest takes place close to summer, as tea farmers wait for tea plants to get bug bitten.
This fully handmade tea was roasted over longan charcoal, which is very rare as nearly all tea made in Taiwan nowadays is electric roasted. Use of cultivar 17 in combination with charcoal roasting gave very distinct tea, it is slightly less floral, sweet with medium texture, have more layers and complexity. Charcoal roasting also means that this tea will age well, it may be difficult to store some for long time though, considering how delicious and aromatic it is.
