There are quite a few Oriental Beauty competitions in Taiwan, and among them there are three big ones. From those three The Hsinchu County Competition which is organized by the Hsinchu County Government is the one with the most competitors. This competition is categorized into the summer competition which runs for four days and the winter competition which runs for three days. Professional and experienced judges are comparing Oriental Beauty judging it by looking at many aspects of the tea and then choosing the best ones. Winning any kind of prize on such competition is a testament to quality of the material used and skills of tea master who made it. This tea has been placed in the top 5% spot for this year in the winter category.
This tea is made of cultivar 17 that is not as popular when making Oriental Beauty as Qing Shin Da Mo, nonetheless tea Master who have crafted this tea used it to its advantage with amazing end effect. Warm aromas of fruits, muscat, florals and meadow like sweetness are rich and alluring. Smooth liquor starts medium and gets thicker throughout the session, bringing very sweet notes of soft flesh fruit like apricot, peach and ripe, sweet plums, complemented by touch of herbs and florals. Peach like and herby aftertaste is lingering long in the back of the mouth and top of the throat, in later infusion followed by cooling sensation. This tea is very balanced, pleasant and satisfying to drink, very comforting and relaxing.
