This is very interesting tea, from very first sip it have reminded me why I have fallen in love with Taiwanese black teas many years ago. Made of Jin Xuan cultivar famous for being used to make milk oolong, it’s coming from agrochemical free fields and was bug bitten by jassids, then machine harvested leaves were processed into black tea.
This tea have intense and amazing, sweet aroma. Aside from obvious honey and floral notes, there is amazing richness to be found here, ranging from layered fruity notes, through warmer chocolate, to warm baked goods.
Creamy liquor is sweet, smooth, medium to thick and well structured. Tea is very sweet, bringing to mind sugar crystals or cotton candy. Taste notes are similar to aroma, but more subtle, refined and sometimes elusive, so tea shows it’s best side when drank in focus.
Very uplifting and lightly stimulating, one of those teas that makes me happy on so many levels.
Thank to machine picking this bug bitten black is more affordable. Those teas are premium not only because of material used but also they need to be processed twice, first like Oriental Beauty and then into a black tea.
