(孔雀) Kong Que - peacock

(開屏) Kāi Píng - opening the tail

It is believed that dreaming about peacock opening his tail means quick recovery for those who are ill. A peacock fanning its tail it’s not only a good sign but also display of true beauty. Peacocks fan out their feathers as part of a courtship ritual to attact a mate, because of this Chinese believe that it’s also a sign of friendship, welcoming friends with open arms. When we have friends over we share with them the very best we have, same as a peacock fanning out his tail is sharing his best. Peacock carved on a teapot not only looks beautiful, it’s also great way to welcome friends to have tea together.

This beautiful teapot was made by (陳奕志) Chen Yì-Zhi, its approximate capacity is 190ml.
