九如圖 Jiu Ru Tu - Nine fish painting

Jiu means nine and according to the ancient books  Ru has a similar sound as fish in Chinese. Using Ru to describe fish on painting, represents having unruffled luck in our everyday life, as the word Ru also means “according to our wishes”. In China fishes represent wealth in a modest way, where there is not only enough for now but also some left for later. A teapot with nine fishes symbolizes always having enough tea for now and some left for later. Wealth in a modest but precious way.

This beautiful teapot was made by (陳奕志) Chen Yì-Zhi, its approximate capacity is 120ml.
